Our research topics include
- meteorites and impacts
- mineralogy of the Earth's interior
- processes on mineral surfaces and bio-geo interactions
- material science and analytical methods
Our methods of choice are high-resolution transmission and scanning electron microscopy, the application of electron crystallography as well as analyses using electron energy loss and X-ray emission spectroscopy.
Studying the small scale in order to understand the processes and interactions on the larger scale is the central theme of our research.
