Benefit concert for children with cancer
Dear members of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena,
In 2026, the International Young Orchestra Academy will celebrate its 16th guest performance in cooperation with the Friedrich Schiller University Jena. The event will take place on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 8:00 PM at the Volkshaus Jena, featuring the Festival Brass and the Trombone Masterclass Quartet from the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar (Artistic Direction: Alexander Richter).
Fourteen musicians from the Festival Brass of the International Young Orchestra Academy and the Weimar Trombone Masterclass will perform for you on the theme "Airs and Atmospheres – From the Origins of the Trombone to Virtuoso Brass Sounds." This benefit concert offers a diverse selection of pieces ranging from Mendelssohn, Lully, and Mozart to well-known modern works.
The International Young Orchestra Academy cultural and social foundation, which I founded and lead, pursues three goals: fostering young musicians and culture, supporting international understanding, and aiding the most vulnerable members of our society—children suffering from cancer and other serious illnesses.
Combine musical enjoyment with social commitment, or give this opportunity as a gift! Special ticket rates are available for employees and students of FSU Jena:
- Employees: €12
- Students: €5
Tickets for the concert are available now at all ticket agencies, or at the special rates directly via schubert@osterfestival.de.

We look forward to welcoming you on April 28, 2026!
Best regards,
Prof. Dr. Ulrich S. Schubert
