On 16 June 2026, the partners of the INDICO2 project met at ASG Analytik Service AG in Neusäß for the project's official kick-off meeting. The consortium, consisting of ASG Analytik Service AG, Forschungszentrum Jülich, Hipole Jena, Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg, Chemiewerk Bad Köstritz GmbH, Harold Scholz, and Himmelwerk, launched a joint effort to develop innovative process concepts for the sustainable production of dimethyl carbonate (DMC) from CO₂ and green methanol.

The meeting featured presentations from all partners, introducing their expertise and outlining the first activities within the project's work packages. For Water Splitting Group, Jacob Schneidewind presented the group's activities in water electrolysis and the in-house techno-economic assessment tool pyH2A, which will be used to support process optimization within INDICO2. In the afternoon, Axel Fache introduced the ongoing development of the assessment framework and presented the planned life cycle assessment (LCA) methodology for the project.

The meeting concluded with discussions on the upcoming project activities and a laboratory tour of ASG Analytik Service AG. We thank ASG for hosting the event and look forward to the collaboration and the exciting work ahead.
