I am a chemist by training (undergrad at TU Munich and EPFL) but realized that in order to solve some of the most pressing challenges we must make chemistry much more efficient:
Currently, chemists spent a large chunk of their replicating failed experience and just gathering experience.
I think we can address this information-bottleneck with data-driven methods and have been focussing on this since my Ph.D. in the group of Berend Smit at EPFL. Following short (<1 month) PostDoc at EPFL, I joined the FSU Jena as a research group leader (as of mid June 2023), where I am also member of the Center for Energy and Environmental Chemistry Jena and the Jena Center for Soft Matter.
I also co-lead the ChemNLP project, with support from OpenBioML.
You can reach me on
and meet me in the Center for Energy and Environmental Chemistry Jena, Philosophenweg 7a (visiting address, office 209), 07743 Jena, Germany.
I am easiest to contact via email.
