Preliminary courses

For some study programmes we offer preliminary courses in mathematics and chemistry. Here you can refresh your school knowledge, prepare yourself for your studies - and, of course, make initial contacts. As a rule, the preliminary courses are optional, but are recommended. In addition, the compulsory practical instruction for chemistry students (B.Sc., teaching profession) takes place during the preliminary chemistry course.

We publish detailed information on the individual preliminary courses on this page in good time before the respective new dates.

The preliminary courses take place at the beginning of the winter semester, before the general lecture period.

  • Who are the important contact persons for questions about exams or problems during my studies at the faculty?
  • What deadlines do I have to observe during the semester?
  • And can I also participate in the committees as a student?

You can find answers to these and other questions about starting your studies in our information brochure for first-semester studentspdf, 3 mb · de. We have also provided links to some other helpful university pages.
