Mass spectrometry with inductively coupled plasma

Dissolved trace and ultratrace elements can be characterised using ICP-MS in aqueous solutions. Inorganic and biological nanoparticulate phases can also be characterised using single particle/single cell ICP-MS with regard to chemical composition, particle size and number of particles. Solids can also be analysed spatially resolved in combination with laser ablation.
