Successful short course on photogrammetry & new 3D hand specimens for our tectonics collection

Prof. Marko Vrabec from the University of Ljubljana led his popular block course "Multiview Photogrammetry: 3D Virtual Geology for everyone" again this year. The digitization of our tectonic collection is also progressing.

Prof. Marko Vrabec from the University of LjubljanaExternal link again led his popular block course "Multiview Photogrammetry: 3D Virtual Geology for everyone". The course was aimed at Master students in the "Modul MGEO005 Geowissenschaftliche Vertiefung IExternal link". Besides the theoretical basics, practical work is in the foreground; this year we visited the famous Teufelslöcher in Jena. The participants receive hands-on tips & tricks for planning and carrying out a 3D project and for photography. The digitization of our tectonic collectionExternal link is also progressing; Prof. Vrabec created numerous new, high-resolution 3D models of our most beautiful hand specimens.
