Curriculum vitae

Dieter Pudlo studied "Geology" at the Technical University of Berlin from 1976 - 1984. As part of his final thesis (degree programmes leading to a diploma) he carried out "Sedimentological investigations in the Bahariya Formation (Upper Cretaceous) in the Western Desert of Egypt". His Diplom mapping was the "Geological-petrological mapping of the area between Wildkogel and Mühlbachtal (Neukirchen am Großvenediger, Land Salzburg, Austria". From 1985 - 1991 he worked for the company BEB (Exxon-Shell), Hanover as an employee, later consultant in the subject) area|field of sedimentary petrography. In 1987 he returned to the TU Berlin and worked there until 1996 within the SFB 69 - "Geoscientific Problems in Arid Regions - Development and Potential of Large Cratonic Structures", subproject "Intracratonic Geodynamic Processes in Central and Northern Sudan", focussing on pan-African and Tertiary igneous rocks in Egypt and Sudan and their significance for the structural development in NE-Africa. From 1991 to 1996 he was also a research assistant at the Central Geochemical Laboratory of the TU Berlin. In 1993 he completed his doctorate with the topic "Complex differentiation processes in magma chamber systems - Petrogenesis of pan-African vein rocks in the granitoid pluton of Bir Safsaf/SW-Egypt". From 1996 - 2005 he worked as a consultant in the (subject) area|field of sedimentary petrography, geochemistry and environmental geology for university and private sector clients. Since 2003 he has been working for the IGW of the FSU Jena and has been involved in various research projects on_{CO2 sequestration} at the IGW since 2006.
