Curriculum Vitae

Reinhard Gaupp received an engineering degree in geodesy, and his Diploma and Ph.D. in geology from the Technical University of Munich. From 1980 to 1983 he worked as a research assistant in petrology at the Technical University of Berlin, then as sedimentologist in the exploration department of BEB Erdgas & Erdöl, Hannover. From 1990 to 1996 he was professor of sedimentary geology at Mainz University; from 1997 to 2014 professor of "Allgemeine und Historische Geology" at Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena.
