  1. MUSIC project meeting in Madrid

    The consortium behind the European Materials for Sustainable Sodium-Ion Capacitors (MUSIC) project met at project partner Talgo’s facility in Madrid for its 8th General Assembly to discuss results and next steps. A particular highlight was the tour of Talgo’s train production facility.

  2. Awards at ISEECap Conference

    Akshaya Sidharthan was awarded the prize for best presentation at the 9th ISEECap Conference in Poznan. In addition, Nihal Naseer, a visiting student in the Balducci research group, received the prize for the best poster.

    Awards were presented to Akshaya Sidharthan for the best presentation and to Nihal Naseer for the best poster.

  3. ISEECap Conference in Poznan

    The 9th edition of the ISEECap (International Symposium on Enhanced Electrochemical Capacitors) conference took place in Poznan, Poland. AG Balducci was represented by Urooj Fatima, Akshaya Sidharthan, Bartek Nowacki, and Andrea Balducci.

  4. ISE (Topical) Conference in Helsinki

    Rebecka Kost and Andrea Hainthaler attended the 42nd Topical Meeting of the International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE), titled “Sustainable Electrochemical Energy Materials: Theory and Practice.” Both presented their work in oral presentations.

  5. Dinesh Shankar Begins His Ph.D.

    As the first doctoral student in Dr. Gomez-Urbano's junior research group, Dinesh Shankar will work on novel materials and electrolytes for water-based recycling.

  6. Kawthar Shaheen in Jena (ENERCAP)

    Kawthar Shaheen (Ph.D. student, Université de Toulouse) spent several months at the Balducci Research Group as part of the ENERCAP project. During her time here, she worked on MXene materials and their application in metal-ion capacitors.

  7. Ph.D. Defense by Sandesh Darlami Magar

    Sandesh Darlami Magar has successfully defended his doctoral dissertation, titled “Biomass-Derived Carbon Material Design and Investigation of Electrolytes for Dual-Carbon Energy Storage Devices”.

  8. Ferris Kühn Begins His Ph.D.

    Having already completed his master’s thesis in the Balducci group, Ferris Kühn is now beginning his doctoral studies. His research will focus in particular on safe electrolytes for use in sodium- and potassium-ion batteries.

  9. EXTREME Project Meeting in Leipzig

    The Extreme project consortium gathered at the industrial partner Skeleton in Leipzig to discuss recent progress toward the development of high-performance supercapacitors.

  10. Urooj Fatima in Poznan (ENERCAP)

    Within the Enercap (European Network to Empower Research on CAPacitors)-project, Urooj Fatima visited the technical university of Poznan. Over the course of three months, she worked together with Dr. Krzysztof Fic in the pursuit of developing high-performing supercapacitors.
