In early April, four students spent a week in our research group. It was a short internship that they used as the basis for their seminar paper. They had specifically chosen our group due to their strong interest in science and their desire to write about an exciting and novel topic. During their research, they came across the water splitting group of Jacob Schneidewind and were immediately fascinated by the topic of green hydrogen.

During their stay, they synthesized a photocatalyst based on polymeric carbon nitride and tested its photocatalytic activity. The students were highly interested and motivated—both by the scientific content and the hands-on work in the lab. And of course, the liquid nitrogen ice cream also left a lasting impression.
