On May 21, MDR hosted the Zukunftstag 2025 under the theme “Transformation and Transfer,” focusing on innovative ideas shaping a sustainable future for Central Germany.
As one of only five projects, we had the opportunity to present our research and represent the Helmholtz-Zentrum für Polymere in Energieanwendungen Jena (HIPOLE Jena). Jacob Schneidewind opened the day with an inspiring keynote, “Catalyzing Sustainable Transformation,” setting the tone for a lively exchange. Afterwards, Jacob Schneidewind and Kristína Rabatínová presented the work of the Water Splitting Group on the direct conversion of water into hydrogen using sunlight. Throughout the day, we had the chance to engage with scientists, media representatives, and communication experts. Our Scientific Officer, Julia Rautschek, accompanied the event onsite and documented it live.
The Zukunftstag provided a unique platform to bridge the gap between cutting-edge technology and public engagement – and we were thrilled to be part of it.
